Week 21 - Review of the 5.11 Tactical Duty Kilt (TDK)

Apparently I haven't done a review of this kilt... until now.
Also, testing out a new camera today. Let me know what you think.

  1. I have two of the 5.11 kilts. I don’t wear them that often. When I ordered the kilt I was confused about how to order. Was the intended waist location jean or true waist? Was the size pants size or true size? I don’t recall if they stated the length. I ended up using my normal kilt true waist of 36” and true waist location. Apparently the intended location was jean waist but the fell is sewn way too low. About 9” if I recall. That is an inch longer then what my traditional true waist kilt fell measurements. The sewn down fell should end at the part of the butt where you start to curve back in toward the legs. Also the length was about right at true waist. That kilt is easy to hem as there is not much material in it if want to move it to jean waist.

That is the other issue that may bug some kilt people are the shallow pleats and not many of them. Not a big deal for me for a utility type kilt worn for very casual situation.
